Ingredients
Method
- Whisk Dry & Savory: In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Mix the Liquids: In a separate jug, whisk together the eggs, buttermilk, and melted butter.
- Combine: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry. Whisk until just combined—don't overwork the batter.
- Fold: Gently stir in the finely grated cheddar and the fresh herbs.
- The Pour: Use the WaffleUp measuring cup to pour the batter into the top funnel. Note: Savoury batters can be slightly thicker; if the batter seems too sluggish, add a tablespoon of milk to the bowl.
- Bake: Set the machine to Level 4 for a golden, crispy exterior that can hold up to heavy toppings like eggs or avocado.
Notes
These waffles are incredibly versatile. You can go full “Brunch Mode” with a poached egg, or use them as a base for fried chicken.
